In FY21, the Center's program work focused in the following three areas:-New Market Development: Invested $1.1 million through our Future Forest Economy initiative to create new markets for wood that displace fossil fuels and increase stewardship of forests, funding market development for structural round timber and wood heat, engineering for a district wood hearing system for the University of Vermont Medical Center, and expansion of logger certification to increase the region's capacity to meet demand for certified wood products.-Automated Wood Heat: Continued sustained investment in market development for local wood heat.
