Contributions are deductible by donors to the extent allowable under federal income tax law. The Association is not subject to Texas margin tax. The Association believes that it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken, and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements. Its federal tax returns for the last four years remain subject to examination. And to address problems resulting from area poverty to stimulate neighborhood economic vitality by aggressive efforts to improve economic and housing development. Form 990, Part III, Line 4a Chartered in 1979, Avenida Guadalupe Association AGA began a process of transforming slum and blighted conditions in the Avenida Guadalupe neighborhood, first acquiring and demolishing a concentration of 40 blighted corrales including relocation for the construction of the UDAG funded Plaza Guadalupe complex Educational, Medical, and Civic Center in1984 in partnership with the San Antonio Development Agency which faciliated the acquisition of and new construction of commericial building environments for public use consistent with the public purpose in partnership with the public purpose. Within the 40 year duration of the Avenida Guadalupe Association, a primary program service is 1 ongoing maintenance and management of public amenities consistent with the public purpose which includes 2 serving as a hub for community organizations and businesses and 3 promoting and celebrating Mexican-American culture to generate and maintain vitality and development in the neighborhood in which the premises are located. One partnership accomplishment includes the brokering and sale of neighborhood lands that in 2022 complete the Lofts at Alazan Apartment Complex-the first major housing development in the Avenida Guadalupe neighborhood in many decades. In FY2020 and 2021 the Covid-19 Pandemic severely limited community convenings. In response to the pandemic, FY2021 Avenida is adapting to on-line and broadcasted communicative outreach and convening with particular focus on proliferating programming related to culture and heritage through the development of a community broadcasting system located in Avenidas Promesa building. Avenida Guadalupe Association continues in FY2021 to manage and support housing for Senior citizens residing in the Avenida Guadalupe neighborhood. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11 The 990 is reviewed with the Executive Committee of the Board along with the audited financial statements. A copy of the 990 is provided to all Board members before filing. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15a The Executive Committee recommends the Executive Directors salary based upon comparability data.
