Patee House and the Jesse James Home in 2020. Visitors came from 49 out of 50 states and 19 foreign countries. Patee House is a National Historic Landmark for its role as the Pony Express headquarters and its service as the Provost Marshal's office during the Civil War. Further more Patee House contains an 1860's steam locomotive, stagecoach, a working vintage carousel, and much more all inside the block-square, four-story brick building. The house where the infamous outlaw Jesse James was killed now stands on the grounds of Patee House. Inside there are exhibits explaining the life and death of Jesse, including artifacts from the grave, removed during the exhumation in 1995. Museum paid 28240.00 toward roof. 0 0 0 As headquarters of the Pony Express, Patee House serves as either the start or finish of the annual re-ride put on each year by the National Pony Express Association (NPEA) in June. The Pony Express Historical Association works with members of the NPEA in eight states to plan and stage the relay ride, which uses approximately 550 people to carry commemorative letters 2,000 miles by horseback. Every year, Patee House Museum and the Jesse James Home are the subject of historical documentaries. Crews from around the world come to the museums to research and film at the historic locations and interview museum staff. Schedule D, Part II, Line 9 One of the primary purposes of the PEHA is to preserve and protect the building and it's grounds. The Museum Director and the Building Superintendent spend nearly all their time doing just that. No distinction is made on financial records as to which expenses are related to easements, because the expenses are independent from the easement; this is, the Association had and will continue to maintain and preserve the building with or without an easement in place. Schedule D, Part III, Line 1 The Association does not capitalize its collection as allowed by SFAS 116, and as such the monetary value of donated historical artifacts are not included in yearly financial statements. This is the third time I have submitted our 990-tax return for 2020. It was originally sent on May 14th, but I was told It was not received, It was sent again on Oct 25th. I received 2 signature confirmations saying that they were received. I have attached copies of receipts sent and signature confirmations received. I will not be paying any fees or penalties due to the incompetence of your offices.
