Children receive 3 meals a day with snack an excellent Haitian education medical care tuoring and a loving family atmosphere. The children receive outings to local parks and the beach a large Christmas celebration and individual birthday parties. The value that is being placed on each child is continuing to have a notable positive impact on their growth and development which has been verbally acknowledged by individuals in the local community. Lespri continued to rent a safe efficent house for the children's home complete with running water generators and a working well. Lespri continued to give the children academic support in addition to their general schooling in the form of tutors for their academic needs. Lespri quarantined withour children during April and after purchasing large acounts of food and staying indoors due to the anticipated epidemic of COVID-19 in Haiti. 86910 0 0 Since Fall 2015 Lespri has been successfully running a one-of-a kind Haitian elementary school with student tuition offered completely free. Lespri was forced to close frequently due to the ongoing epidemic as well as intense nation-wide violence and instability. The student count grew to 173 and includes a special "Klas Avanse" for students over the age of 10 that have never been to school before. In addition to regular academic classes we also include classes in basic computer skills and practical sewing classes. We also paid for additional trade classes for students and even youth outside of the Lespri free school to learn trades such as mechanics. Lespri completed the construction of the 2 remaining walls side wall and front wall on the mission's coming free school property in 2020. Lespri built a guard house close to the entrance of the free school property and installed two iron gates. 40569 0 0 Lespri served many charitably in our local community in Haiti. This included renting 13 houses for the poor and for single mothers with children. Lespri assisted two former orphanage children with groceries on a regular bi-monthly basis. Lespri charitably gave many meals away to youth that frequented the Lespri children's home allowing them to eat hot cooked meals on a regular basis.
