Our programs introduce students to the power of the arts as well as learn valuable skills that lead to jobs and careers across multiple industries. With covid hitting us hard we adjusted the best we could to reach out to many in the community and provide safe events. We curate the experience and bring thousands of children to a variety of world-class venues. For many, this is their first experience attending a live performance. This includes our yearly Holiday Party. Over 75 youth, from ages 1-20, from various agencies were in attendance. Every single kid was able to participate in art related activities, enjoyed a delicious meal, and received a gift from Santa, but more importantly we all had fun! Number of youths served was 259. 57000 57000 Digital Arts: Create Now has created a virtual after-school digital arts workshop for high school students.These after school workshops also lead into Creative Career Skills. Locations included are Venice Senior High School, USC Hybrid, and Grant High School. These workshops are 100% free and sponsored for our youth by various outlets such as Apple, Mary Pickford Foundation, and Romwe. Number of youth served was 64. 65639 65639 Volunteer Programs. Create Now provides volunteer opportunities for artists from all disciplines who want to share their creative gifts with youth throughout the region. We connect passionate volunteers to youth, especially those living in homeless facilities, foster group homes, transitional-living centers, etc. Referrals are based on locations, schedules, and other factors to find the best match. Create Now helps develop lesson plans, provides art supplies, instruments, and other resources to support the volunteers and youth. Last year we had over 10 workshops in a variety of arts disciplines in foster group homes, community centers, and transitional housing facilities. Since 1996, Create Now has provided arts programs and services to more than 50,000 youth in Los Angeles and adjacent counties. We focus on youth who are experiencing homelessness, in foster care, or experiencing other forms of challenges. Create Now provides youth with high-quality arts programs, enriching opportunities, and caring artists who often operate as mentors. This is accomplished through our network of 125+ partner youth agencies, including shelters, foster group homes, schools, detention centers and other types of facilities that support youth. Form 990, Part III (Cont. 1) All programs are tailored to meet the needs of the kids, plus our volunteers and youth partner agencies. Create Now's workshops culminate with a party, recognizing each student's achievement. Students receive gifts, like very unique Certificates of Completion and other lasting souvenirs to remind them about their accomplishments. Swift Playgrounds - Inspired by Apple Today classes, our teaching artist taught coding via Swift Playgrounds on iPads using Apple's official Everyone Can Code Curriculum Guide at Imperial Courts in Watts, Los Angeles. Graphic Design - Grant High School students learned Graphic Design using MacBook Airs. Create Now's Holiday- iPad Table for our youth to explore creative apps such as Garageband and Charcoal during the event, monitored by Apple Specialists from The Apple Store - The Grove. Music Business - Students at Mann UCLA Community School are learning the ins and outs of the music industry as well as exploring GarageBand on iPads. Form 990, Part III, Line 4c Volunteer Programs: We connect volunteers to different shelters around LA to lead their own customized art program. Volunteers complete required agency training and teach the kids art. They are responsible for curating their own syllabus, supply list and committing to a 6 - 8 session program. These workshops included Arts & Crafts, Creative Writing (Poetry), Music Business, Abstract Art, Visual Arts, Art Therapy, and Musical Improv.
