With the help of Jnana Prabodhini , Pune ( India) volunteers ; JPF identified such affected students in about 3 to 5 schools in the state of Maharashtra , India and arranged to send funds to support them. All the documents and data is kept on a shared google drive. Volunteers can access the data and get information. Most of the data transfers are automated.to improve accuracy. All the meetings are handled on google meet tool. The tax and other information is available to any donor upon request. This form 990 was kept on the shared drive for the executive committee to review. Based upon the space, JPF also tries to keep some data on the website. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 The organization has google drive where all the information is kept and is available to public upon request. Form 990, Part VIII, Line 1f The contribution shown on this line includes Facebook payments of 49,821.13 as third party network payments shown on form 1099-k. This form is issued by Facebook ( TIN 27-4444984) as payment settlement entity third party network. JPF officials did research and tried to understand how and where to report this amount on 1099k form. We even tried to call the help no given by IRS 877 829 5500 . However there was no response or help. We could not find any line on this section which is the most appropriate to show this amount. Therefore we are reporting it on schedule O that our total amount has included this amount. We have kept form 1099-k for our records. This was paid by facebook as many of our donors send donations using facebook and facebook fund raising pages. This amount is not taxable. Facebook payment 49821.13 plus other 196789.02 equals to total 146610.15 on line1f Form 990, Part XII, Line 2c Even if the accounts are not reviewed by an independent accountant, JPF uses the automated accounts receivable system. The donate button on the website is tied to the bank and all the electronic donations are received in the bank. The PayPal system posts the money into bank and deducts the charges. Very few checks are deposited manually and with the help of bank statements all the receivables are matched. A committee of two people checks the balances from time to time. All the payables are handled by electronic fund transfers which leave an audit trail. All the payables need to be approved by at least three members of executive committee. All the transactions are electronic and there are enough checks and balances to avoid any errors.
