We create a strong foundation through programs focused on creative expression and life skills, allowing our kids to discover their unique voice and limitless potential for success. 1 1 506864 0 1016671 Peace4Kids adapted our core group programming iteratively, in real-time throughout the year to serve 147 youth. Of this group, our Transition Youth Services served 35 youth ages 13-21 with a support system and access to vital community services as they transition from the foster care system. We hosted over 40 virtual youth events, provided over 200 hours of virtual tutoring services, and provided over 50 different in-person micro class experiences. Peace4Kids addressed a broad range of basic needs that have emerged as a result of the pandemic. This included overcoming food insecurity and housing instability, navigating public benefits, and accessing health care and other social services. This drove Peace4Kids to increase the frequency of our individual connections with transition-age youth and caregivers. We also advanced ROCMove (Revolution of Care Movement), a youth-driven effort to research and redress implicit biases toward those with a lived experience in foster care. Form 990, Part III, Line 3 As referenced in our last Form 990, Peace4Kids continued to adapt how it provides programs and services in light of the impact of the pandemic. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b A preliminary closing income statement is distributed to the Board of Directors after the close of the fiscal year. A revised income statement is presented after correcting entries are made. A draft Form 990 is distributed for review and comment. If there are no comments or concerns, the Board issues authority to submit the final Form 990. If there are concerns, the matter is held for further discussion. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c The policy states the following: C: Duty to Disclose: In connection with the actual or potential conflict on interest, an interested person must disclose the existence of her/his financial interest and all material facts to the Board of Directors and members of committees with Board-delegated powers considering the proposed transaction or agreement. With procurements that require approval of the Board, the chair informs members at BOD meetings about their duty to disclose any conflicts. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 The Executive Director is reviewed by a committee of the Board of Directors. Compensation is based on this evaluation and was conducted during this past fiscal year. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 Documents are made available to the public upon request, and on websites such as guidestar.org. Unfortunately, Peace4Kids missed the November 15, 2021 deadline to file our Form 8868 to receive an automatic 6-month extension to file our Form 990 by May 15, 2022. As soon as we realized that we missed this deadline, we accelerated the work required to complete our Form 990 and file no later than 45 days after the deadline. We typically rely on our internal calendar system to send reminders about the Form 8868 deadline, and have now put in additional fail-safes, having missed this deadline for the first time. Considering the extraordinary events of the last year, our filing history, and our good faith efforts now, we would respectively request that any late filing penalties be removed.
