Each INSAF Project in South Asia (India) is coordinated through one of the INSAF members residing in the USA. The USA based INSAF member serves as the Project Leader/Coordinator. 2. As much as possible, the INSAF Project Leader or a trusted representative personally visits the project site in India when practical, at their own expense to monitor the project, and then shares their feedback with INSAF. 3. Updates from such visits or those provided via communications to INSAF about the project are shared with the members through a regularly published INSAF Newsletter. Form 990, Part VI, Section A, Line 7a INSAF's governing Board Members are all INSAF members and sponsors or cosponsors of one or more INSAF projects. Any person who meets those two qualifications may volunteer to serve on the INSAF Board. The INSAF constitution provides for the ability to recall a Board Member. If there are more volunteers than positions on the Board at the time each Board term starts, INSAF members have a right to vote for the candidate(s) of their choice. Draft Form 990 and its associated Schedules were then prepared by INSAF volunteers. 4. The draft Form 990 and its associated schedules were then sent to each INSAF Board Member for review and comments. 5. The tax return was finalized after incorporating any comments from the INSAF Board Members. 6. The final tax return was signed by the INSAF President and filed with the IRS. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c The INSAF conflict of interest policy is posted on the INSAF website. The Board members are reminded annually about the conflict of interest policy. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 The INSAF constitution, conflict of interest policy, Form 990 for the INSAF Tax Return for the latest complete fiscal year, are posted on the INSAF website. The first issue in each calendar year of the INSAF Newsletter publishes the annual financial summary for the last fiscal year, and has done so for the past 43 years. The INSAF Newsletter containing the financial summary is uploaded to the INSAF web site and is available to the public and the INSAF membership. Past Newsletters are also available on the INSAF website for the past 17 years.
