FAM also partners with various local organizations to further distribute food and personal care items to even more low-income families and individuals in need of assistance. People experiencing homelessness are connected to family and friends through FAM's robust Homeward Bound Program. Leveraging our long standing practice and proven approach we received federal funds to increase the total number of people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic. Financial counseling, job search coaching, and other life skills classes are also available. Back-to-school supplies and holiday gifts were provided by FAM's donors. Life skills classes are offered to all clients. Referrals for other social services needed were provided. The goal is to help clients transition into their own stable housing as quickly as possible. Through a new partnership with Mission Hospital, FAM assisted fifty-four individuals who are frequent users of the hospital emergency services and provided non-congregant shelter options.
