Our data collection and analysis improve the collective understanding of the conditions in which children and families live, the risk factors that impact their well-being, the presence or absence of resources and assets at the community level and captures and shares data on the lived experience of children and families through participatory research. This work informed the publication of our first ever statewide Child and Family Well-Being Index, which examined child and family well-being across New Yorks 62 counties; innovative analysis of new data from the Census Bureaus Household Pulse Survey; a detailed investigation of the child care affordability crisis; the local Child and Family Well-Being Index; our first ever citywide youth survey to inform local priority setting; and state and city budget analysis and testimony. We also hosted a webinar series Racial Equity Advancement Lab (R.E.A.L. Talk) that discussed the structural and institutional barriers - economic, educational, housing, health, safety, and justice - that have disproportionately kept persons of color living at or near poverty. We also engaged and mobilized New Yorkers through advocacy courses and webinars on our publications and data analysis and heightened the attention paid to the needs of children and families through consistent and effective engagement of the news media. 1744786 Program and Advocacy CCCs leadership in statewide and city-based coalitions, plus its renowned budgetary and legislative analysis and testimony, resulted in several critical victories that will improve the lives of children. CCC continued its leadership role in the Raise the Age NY Campaign, the Campaign for Children, the NYS Child Welfare Coalition and the Family Homelessness Coalition and launched a new Healthy Kids, Healthy Minds campaign. We conducted ongoing analysis and assessment for both the City and State Budget and legislative proposals, testified state and local public hearings, and met with state and local elected officials and their staff to discuss our advocacy priorities. As federal stimulus and direct aid kept state and municipal budgets whole, CCC successfully informed budget and legislative choices including securing passage of city legislation that increased the upper limits for the citys rent subsidies; expanding 3-K in every district citywide with the goal of universal access by 2023; bringing an additional 60,000 infant and toddler child care seats to communities heavily impacted by the pandemic; expanding access to the Save for College program to every public-school kindergartner; and dramatically expanding access to summer programming for public school students. At the State level our advocacy helped to protect and augment funding supporting behavioral health care access and secured state legislation to advance equity in access to telehealth services and Early Intervention programs. We also informed the closure of two juvenile placement facilities as well as passage of legislation that increased the age of juvenile delinquency from seven to twelve years old and ensured people who were denied youthful offender status in the past will have a second chance to apply. Finally, our advocacy informed the States investment of historic levels of federal funding to child and adolescent behavioral health supports and ensured that the State allocated additional education
