<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>The Hesston Chamber of Commerce conducts a number of events that generate revenue and allow the opportunity for members of the community, specifically business representatives to network and interact. These events have grown in attendance in that last three years and continue to serve their purpose. While they generate revenue for the Chamber, tax receipts are not issued to those who participate. Examples of these events include membership lunches (around 25 attend each lunch), a golf tournament (around 120 golfers), an annual banquet where a citizen and business of the year are recognized (around 120 attendees) and a career fair in partnership with the local high school (did not occur in 2021 due to COVID). Insurance coverage for all events and activities is also included in this area as it's required to carry out the activities of the Chamber.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>

<DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>The Chamber of Commerce Carries out a number of activities to promote visitor activity in the community and draw attention and promote local businesses. These are in the form of community events and festivals. One is a fall event associated with the local high school homecoming, another revolves around the holidays and a downtown tree lighting and a third occurs in the summer. The Chamber also organized a local community night at a minor league baseball game and offered discounted tickets to Chamber members. It's difficult to estimate numbers because most of these are outdoor events where attendance is not taken. Overall, it is estimated that 500 community members are impacted through these events. The Chamber also hosts ribbon cuttings for new businesses or relocated businesses.</DescriptionProgramSrvcAccomTxt>
