Although there are more than 30 organizations that provide help and support to the homeless population in our area none of them have a focus on helping homeless women rebuild self esteem by helping them to develop skills they can use to become more self supporting. To the best of our knowledge the twelve month training program offered by TenderLove Community Center Inc. is the only one of its kind in the Albuquerque area. Our program educates our clients through individualized hands on learning and training opportunities through internships and earn while you learn opportunities including a small business Sew 4 Real LLC run by and for graduates of our program. We also provide job placement services and or support in setting up a small business enterprise for our clients who complete our training program. Many of the people walking into our facility grew up poor and their children are likely to be poor too.
