In order to select students with the greatest potential for success, the Foundation's selection committees focus on candidates with a demonstrated history of involvement in activities, outstanding scholastic achievement and a well-rounded personality marked by a desire to succeed. The Terry Foundation program does not consist merely of issuing checks once a semester; it is a sense of family and community. Scholars are expected to participate in student organizations and to be involved on campus.The Terry Foundation presents Terry Scholar alumni a number of ways to give back to the Foundation through their time and resources to ensure a strong Terry family.The Terry Scholar Alumni Association (TSAA) exists to create opportunities for Alumni and current Terry Scholars to give back to the Terry Foundation and to the state of Texas through relationship-building, mentorship, and personal and professional development.
