Participants were between the ages of 19-65+, with the majority of participants in the 35-44 range. There was an even split between male and female participants, with none reporting as non-binary. Diversity has been a focus in 2022, with the formation of a DEI Committee and participants representing the following populations: 5% Asian American, 5% Latinx, 6% Black/African American, 3% American Indian/Alaska Native, 5% Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islander, 5% transitioning out of incarceration, and 9% experiencing homelessness. Recovery Beyond provides regular outdoor/healthy lifestyle activities (bouldering, hiking, kayaking, bicycling, etc.); monthly community events (archery, skateboarding, trampoline park, high ropes course, etc.); seasonal challenges (scavenger hunt, campout, Tough Mudder); and the Annual expedition (e.g. a week-long sea kayaking trip around the San Juan Islands. These are all provided in tandem with recovery curriculum and with the program "Pathways to Recovery."
