The organization extended its year end date to 30 September 2020. It filed Form 990 for the 12 month period ending 30 June 2020 within the permitted extended time period. It also attempted to file a Form 990 for the short 3 month period July to September 2020 and was advised by its e-filing provider that this should have been filed in paper format. That short period form was subsequently returned to us by the IRS accompanied by letter LTR2694C stating that the form should have been filed electronically. We subsequently discussed this matter with IRS customer service agent number XXX-XX-XXXX who confirmed that the form should have been filed in paper format as it is not possible to file short period forms electronically. Uncertainty regarding the status of this filing led to delays in filing Form 990 for the periods ended 30 September 2021 and 30 September 2022. This matter was discussed with IRS customer service agent numbers 1004010002 and 1003701331 on 18th July and 24th October 2023 respectively. We apologize for these delays. Filings prior to September 2020 were submitted on a timely basis and we therefore respectfully request that you waive any late filing penalties as it would be detrimental to our financial position.
