This campaign has opened the hearts and pocketbooks of our South Florida neighbors, raising over $20,000 to date, and paying off the debt for 40 Broward County Schools. The Family Fund: Countless numbers of families turn to Neighbors 4 Neighbors for help in their tine of need. Their stories might be shared on CBS4 or MY33, but many more requests come in every day from out nonprofit partners on behalf of those they serve, in search of assistance for an immediate need. That's why Neighbor 4 Neighbors has a family fund. Mental Wellness: In partnership with the Children's Services Council of Broward, we are aiming to break the stigma of getting mental help. The stress of the past year has brought to the forefront that many are struggling and don't know where to turn or think that mental health resources aren't for them. We aim to encourage them to get help and understand that it's OK, not to be OK. Surfside Relief & Recovery Fund: Neighbors 4 Neighbors set up the Surfside Building Collapse Fund to assist the victims in the long term with unforeseen costs and things not covered by insurance. We worked directly with the American red Cross, FREINDS (Miami-Dade's Long Term Recovery Organization, the Department of Emergency Management and the Mayors office to assist in coordinating more immediate resources like donated food, apartment rentals, furniture, gifts card, and more. We will continue our work well into the future until every family is assisted. Additionally, we worked to feed first responders at the special sites where they were sorting through the debris for personal items in hopes to return them to the families.
