On 12/17/21, $473.15 paid to family of Omar Ali (who died while processing a wrongful conviction claim with The Liberation Foundation) for expenses relating to travel to his funeral. On 12/18/21, $353.76 paid to family of Omar Ali, per above I respectfully request relief for the penalty of a late filing for this return due to the requirement of e-filing for 990EZ forms which was instituted in 2021, only after the registration of this organization and filing of its first tax return by mail in 2020. This 990EZ is for a small 501c3. Having received notification of the failure to file of this 990EZ in July 2023 (after the completed form was received by the IRS by mail before the filing date), I promptly submitted the form via an approved e-filer. I request relief from penalty for this failure to file, or the application of a First Time Abate, which is appropriate to this situation. I ensure that this error will not reoccur.
