The organization also pays grants from the Marianna Hofer Fund that is controlled by Findlay Hancock Community Foundation. A committee decides to whom the grants will be issued to, the Community Foundation withdraws the money from the Marianna Hofer Fund and MCPA pays out the grants Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The organization's Finance Director compiles the data and prepares the Form 990. The Finance Director circulates the Form 990 to the Finance Committee for review and approval. Upon review and approval the Finance Director files Form 990. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c Each new member of the Board of Directors reviews the Conflict of Interest policy and signs an acknowledgement. If a conflict of interest arises with a particular Director, such Director will be excused from the discussion about such conflict (i.e. physically leave the meeting room) and be recused from any decision-making about such conflict. This is done pursuant to the organization's Conflict of Interest policy. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 Marathon Center for the Performing Arts board of directors shall annually evaluate the executive director on their performance, and ask for their input on matters of performance and compensation. The method of evaluation is determined by the committee of the board and be based upon previously set measures of accountability. The executive committee will obtain research and information to make a recommendation to the full board for the compensation of the executive director based on a review of comparable data.
