In this short film project we aim to promote Indigenous women empowerment focusing on leadership development and strengthening the power of 5 Indigenous matriarchal leaders in the country in their respective professions. Indigenous women are underrepresented in many areas especially in mainstream media and we hope with this project we can educate and broaden perspectives and show others how important it is to see Indigenous women in a positive light. This film will help shape our collective narrative as Indigenous People and allow the gap of uncertainty negative stereotypes and lack of understanding to be restored with positive stories from women who are making lasting impacts on their homelands.
