This was a hybrid event. The premiere takes place at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center. Form 990, Part III, Line Line 4 If These Walls Could Tell, annually, Storytelling Arts of Indiana and Indiana Landmarks commissions an Indiana storyteller to research, develop and premiere a story based on the building that is awarded the annual Cook Cup for outstanding restoration in the state. The story is told twice once at the Indiana Landmarks Center and once at the site. This event usually take place at Crown Hill Cemetery but we moved it to Tibbs Drive-In because of COVID. The expenses was 19,435.87. Form 990, Part III, Line Line 4 As I Recall Storytelling Guilds, These are free monthly meetings take place two times where elders gather to recall, develop, and share their family stories. Form 990, Part III, Line Line 4 Indy Story Slam, Individuals gather after work to share stories on based on a monthly theme. It is a competition for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. Produced in collaboration with Freetown Village. Form 990, Part III, Line Line 4 Storytelling in the Parks, Storytelling Arts of Indiana secures funding from the Summer Youth Fund to present two performances at 15 day camp sites throughout Marion County during the month of June and July. Form 990, Part III, Line Line 4 Weekly Storytelling at Riley Hospital for Children, Storytelling Arts of Indiana sends storytellers weekly to tell stories at the bedside of the patients. The storytellers work in pairs and move from bedside to bedside 50 weeks a year. This did not take place during the 2021-22 season due to Covid. Form 990, Part III, Line Line 4 Annual Liars Contest, In collaboration with the Indiana State Fair, Storytelling Arts of Indiana hosts a liars contest on opening night of the Indiana State Fair. Winners are selected in two categories, youth up to 17 years of age and adults. First, Second and Third place awards of cash and ribbons to the winners. This was cancelled during the 2020 and 2021 Season. Form 990, Part III, Line Line 4 The Life Stories Project is an oral history project that records the stories of everyday people. The stories are archived in the oral history collection at the Indiana Historical Society. The project was in collaboration with Freetown Village. Form 990, Part III, Line Line 4 Hear Our Stories The life and afterlife incarceration is our newest program. We train individuals who were formally incarcerated to shape and tell their stories. We seek venues such as churches to host this event. Three individuals share their stories followed by a QA and reception. We distribute a resource list of organizations that serve inmates and formally incarcerated individuals that are in need of volunteers and donations.
