Hosted roundtable events with small businesses, executive-level members and key elected officials and jurisdiction administrators. Partnered with Sunnyside Unified School District and AZ Cyber Initiative on career pathway initiatives. Leading on the Workforce Investment Board to create more apprenticeships and internships within industry. Connections - Hosted over 20 networking events. Continued Coffee & Contacts, Chamber Xchange and Issues with a Twist. Over 50 ribbon cuttings, mixers and major events with over 1,800 attendees. Our workforce initiatives work expanded to bring government, employers, education and workforce development, and marketing efforts together to address talent development and attraction. Part X, Line 2: The Chamber is an Internal Revenue Code ("IRC") Section 501(c)(6) organization, exempt from taxes by application of IRC Section 501(a) and is a public charity by application of IRC Section 509(a)(1). Accordingly, no provision for federal or state income taxes is recorded in the accompanying financial statements. Income from certain activities not directly related to the Chamber's tax-exempt purpose, however, may be subject to taxation as unrelated business income. Management is not aware of any matters which would cause the Chamber to lose its tax-exempt status. Management has considered its tax positions in accordance with the accounting standard for uncertainty in income taxes and believes that all of the positions taken in its federal and state exempt organization tax returns are more likely than not to be sustained upon examination. The Chamber's returns are subject to examination by federal and state taxing authorities, generally for three and four years, respectively, after they are filed. The Chamber recognizes interest and penalties related to unrecognized tax benefits in administrative and general expenses and accrued expenses in the accompanying financial statements.
