<ExplanationTxt>GLOBAL BANJARA BAPTIST MINISTRIES, INDIAANNUAL REPORT 2023 Grief Management Workshops: One of regular programs of GBBM is conducting medical camps in rural areas. This year our staff members have conducted awareness and motivational camps to encourage individuals and families who were depressed from covid, financial loss of loved ones and other causes. Sujatha Naik and Srinivas Naik had been a great inspiration and encouragement to all of the participants through Grief Management Workshops. Womens Conference: Special Sessions for Women Leaders were conducted for two days. Sister Yvonne Honeycutt from Fellowship Church Round Rock, Sister Carrie Fulton and Sister Ashley Carter from Fellowship Bible Church in Waco, Texas, spoke to pastors wives and women leaders. Over 80 women leaders attended these sessions. On day One, Yvonne encouraged women by sharing about Hagar, saying God knows us, our needs, and helps us. Like Samaritan women, we need to find our saviour and reach our communities even if we are not liked by them. Sister Carrie has shared her role in her church and the importance of teaching the Word of God to Children. Sister Ashley, besides working hard in Medical Camp, encouraged all women to serve others, especially children physically and spiritually. Training Centre Inaugurated: Willie Gomez, along with his team, inaugurated a Training Hall. All our staff gather every month for 3 full days to share ministry reports and pray for each other and to learn Biblical Lessons to be taught in our House Churches each month. Pastor Naik gives at least 4 lessons each month to be taught to Second line leaders and the congregations. Christmas Celebrations: GBBM ministers in more than 300 Banjara villages, conducted Christmas Celebrations this year in December to share the love of God and why Jesus came to this world. Thousands attended these celebrations and were blessed. In every place, we conducted Christmas celebrations followed by a nice fellowship dinner prepared by local Christian believers. Free Clothes & Blankets Distributed: During the Christmas celebrations, free clothes and blankets were distributed to old age people. Hundreds of families benefited and received new clothes this year. We are serving in over 450 Banjara villages with the help of 30 Staff. School Project:ALETHEIA BANJARA SCHOOL ABS was established in July 2009 under the aegis of GBBM, an organization with an ardent desire to educate the children of Gurrapu Thanda region and to share love of the Lord Jesus. The past 14 years have been eventful, exhilarating and encouraging. With the relentless prayers of our well-wishers all these years, our Lords blessings have been with us, and we are growing from strength to strength in faith in our wonderful Lord with his constant guidance, protection, and wisdom. We praise the Lord for all the good deeds He is doing for us. The Banjara Community until recently was nomadic, but now leads a settled life. The Community members lack in technical skills and work as small-time farmers and unskilled laborers. Their farmlands are not fertile and the rainfall in the region is scanty. The Community is poverty stricken. The literacy rate among the Community is very low (estimated conservative figure is 25%). Education for the Banjara Community is not only important but also essential for the economic, social, and spiritual uplift. ABS is a powerful tool to reach the community for elevating their quality of life and could be instrumental in spreading the word of God among the Community. ABS engages itself in various activities for the physical, mental, social, and spiritual growth of the children and help them evolve into strong leaders with a Christian foundation. A Brief Report on ABS for the Year 2023:Praise be to the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ for faithfulness, guidance and providing during the year. We thank the donors of Aletheia Banjara School for their prayers and financial support. We appreciate the sincere efforts and perseverance of the teachers for their dedication to train and mould the students with academic and spiritual knowledge. We acknowledge the hard work and tireless work of other staff members who have contributed to the successful running of the school. We appreciate the GBBM-India Board for their godly leadership all through. The academic year 2023-24 commenced in June 2023. This year we have over 400 students enrolled. Aletheia is unique in many ways. It not only teaches high quality academic education in English, but also imparts spiritual knowledge to the students. It was very sad that many students, who have been receiving quality education and have been growing in the Word of God and faith, had to leave the school; more so, because of the lost opportunity of hearing the Word. If only the school had enough boarding facility for these students too, we could have avoided this situation. Academic activities: In the past, our School was short of well-trained language teachers. However, this year we have teachers who are language experts in teaching Telugu, Hindi, and English. Special English classes were conducted to emphasize English as their main language of communication. A special care and attention are being given to the students who are behind in their studies. The concerned subject teachers spend a bit extra time with the students to help them to cope up with others. Special competitions and incentives are offered to encourage the students who are weak in studies. Extracurricular activities Sports and games: In many schools in and around the region, physical education takes a backseat. Aletheia gives importance to the overall growth of a student, i.e., educational, physical, spiritual, mental, and social. The School allots time for sports and games so that every student is involved in some kind of activity. We found that students are enthusiastic to participate in sports and games. The school conducts many sports and games. Competitions in sports and games are a regular affair. Power drink and nutritious lunch: Aletheia is concerned with the health of its students. To address the malnutrition problem, Aletheia is providing all the students with balanced and healthy power drink called Jaava which is made of variety of cereals and millets in the mornings. Jaava comprises of finger millet, pearl millet, groundnut, wheat, sorghum, green gram, soybean, jaggery (traditional non-centrifugal cane sugar), etc., which provides the required nutrition. Along with Jaava, Aletheia is also providing a nutritious lunch which consists of rice, healthy vegetables, toordal (split pigeon peas, lentils) etc. Students enjoy this meal a lot and this may be the only sumptuous meal in the day for them. The effect of Jaava and lunch has considerable impact on the health of students, which is evident in very looks of the students, who are healthy, agile and smart. Aletheia again is unique in this aspect, too. Aletheia is the only Christian/private school in the region. Even though other private schools anywhere in the State collect heavy fees from their students, such service is never provided. It is only Aletheia which caters to the nutrition aspect of the students. Drawing and painting: Aletheia boasts of students with vast talent in drawing and painting. ABS has conducted competitions among their peers of different levels and awarded special prizes to those who stood first and second. Our 10th Class Students: We are very happy to share that all ABS Students passed in distinction 10th Grade Board Examinations conducted by the Telangana State Government. So far, ABS has seven batches graduated and most of them pursuing higher studies. Our First Batch Graduates have completed their Bachelors and few of them are even working. Happy about Teachers Quarters: You are happy to report that the Lord has provided $50,000 toward Teachers Quarters to complete four apartments. These apartments will be ready for occupation by end of June, 2024. We thank all the donors for their generous gifts. ABS Graduate in Wichita State University: Manjula Naik Banavath was a member of GBBMs first graduating class in (2017). When she joined ABS in 2009 as a 3rd grade student, she did not know any of the English alphabet but did not want to start in a lower grade with younger students. In 6th grade her father stopped her from attending school. Pastor Naik met with her father, and he agreed to let Manjula attend school again. With hard work, the loving support of ABS staff and Gods grace Manjula graduated with good grades. It gives us immense pleasure that now Manjula is pursuing her masters in electrical and computer engineering in Wichita State University, USA.</ExplanationTxt>
