A grant of $8026 was provided to Milford Public Schools to fund several innovative projects that would allow for the greater use of STEM technology in the classroom, art education, and wellness programming for students. 8026 0 Robotics - The Milford Education Foundation (MEF) funds the Milford Robotics team, an extracurricular activity for high school students to learn to build, program, and compete in regional, national, and international robotics competitions. MEF provides funding for robot construction materials, registration fees, and travel expenses. Foran High School for a presentation by an astronomy teacher and an evening filled with food, games, and demonstrations by the Milford Robotics Team. The total cost of the event for FY2023 was $506. The program supports 80 teachers at a day-long retreat. The grants benefit hundreds of students annually. One Day for Day One - Milford Education Foundation annually hosts a gathering of teachers and administrators just before the start of the new school year. The event is meant to help energize and motivate teachers and administers through hands on workshops and networking opportunities meant to build confidence, optimism, and kinship as they face the new year ahead. Over 100 teachers participate every year.
