The Storming the Sound with Salmon event held by the Federal Way school district was attended by roughly 750 people, 700 of which were students in the fourth grade. In 2023, we had 8 pre-veterinary interns and 19 wildlife interns. The pre-veterinary internship was completed by 6 interns and the wildlife internship was completed by 3 interns. There were 7 interns continuing their wildlife internship into 2024 and 1 continuing their pre-veterinary internship into 2024. The total hours completed by interns in both internships was 6,835. They came not only from local colleges but from schools across the US. 87769 60000 33555 Animal Care:Kitten Summary: In 2023 the kitten program received 117 cats and kittens into our care. Unfortunately, we received 10 kittens that were very ill and died while in our care. So, we were able to we adopt a total of 107 cats and kittens during 2023. Wildlife Care Summary: 699 wild animals came to Puget Sound WildCare. 42% of those presented alive were returned to the wild. 3% were transferred to other facilities.
