The Endowment also includes certain net assets without donor restrictions that have been designated for endowment by the Board of Directors, as well as one fund that was established by a donor wherein the corpus is not restricted, but any earnings are restricted to a specific purpose. The endowments provide grants to CARTI's cancer patients. Donations to the endowment provide a gift with both immediate and long-term benefits. Endowment donations are invested. A portion of the annual income from the investment is used to address immediate needs at CARTI. The remaining funds are reinvested to ensure indefinite support. Part X, Line 2: The Foundation believes that it has appropriate support for any tax positions taken affecting its annual filing requirements, and as such, does not have any uncertain tax positions that are material to the financial statements.
