It was the first year back to normalized school after three years dealing with Covid-19. Staff and student attendance improved. The school went from a low C in 2022 to a high C in 2023 based upon the state's standardized tests. With additional funding from state and district grants the school is now paying teachers salaries that are competitive with the district. Hourly staff, salaried assistants and office personal were also given raises, creating a better working moral for the school. The school received dual accreditation from the American Montessori Society and Cognia. We are one of only nineteen public schools in the nation to receive the AMS Accreditation, which will not expire util 2028. Schedule E, Part I, Line 6 The Coral Reef Montessori Academy Charter School is a component unit of the Miami-Dade District School Board and as such receives Federal, State and Local Government funding through the State and School District. The right to this funding has never been revoked or suspended. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 11b The draft IRS Form 990 is emailed to each board member. The accountant is available to answer any questions. After any and all questions are answered each board member approves the Form 990 by return email and then receives a final copy of the Form 990. The approval is then ratified at the next board meeting. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c The school follows the conflict of interest policy of the Miami-Dade County School Board. Accordingly, the board members must file annual statements with the Miami-Dade Supervisor of Elections, which includes a statement of financial interest. Board Members review the relationships of all employees and vendors on an ongoing basis in accordance with this policy. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 Each year, the Board of Directors review the proposed salaries for all employees as part of the Budget review and approval process. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 All meetings of the Board of Directors are advertised publicly and the public are invited to attend. All governing documents, policies and financial information are Public Documents in accordance with Florida Law and are available to the public upon request. A Form 8868 was submitted in a timely manner, providing an automation six month extension.
