All recipient organizations are non-profit entities. The money that is granted to these organizations has been donated to the CISPES Education Fund with the express purpose of providing financial support to the designated community organizations during the tax year. Once per year our representatives in El Salvador solicit grant applications from several non-profit organizations requesting funding for a particular project. These proposals are submitted to the CISPES Education Fund board for their approval. Money is disbursed throughout the following year via money transfers either directly to the organization or through our representatives. The representativess meet regularly with staff or designated representatives from the grantee organizations to monitor the status of the project and its implementation.
