Explanation of other changes in net assets or fund balances Part XI line 9 Recently adopted accounting standard - In February 2016, the FASB issued Accounting Standards Update (ASU) No. 2016-02, Leases, and established Accounting Standards Codification (ASC) 842 which supersedes ASC 840, Leases. The new lease standard requires lessees to recognize assets and liabilities on the balance sheet for the rights and obligations created by all leases with lease terms of more than twelve months. ASU 2016-02 also expands on the required quantitative and qualitative disclosures surrounding leases.The Organization adopted ASU 2016-02 and any subsequent amendments effective August 1, 2022, using the modified retrospective method, with certain practical expedients available. The Organization elected the package of practical expedients permitted under transition which permits the Organization to not reassess the following: 1) whether a contract is or contains a lease, 2) lease classification, and 3) initial direct costs. The cumulative effect of adopting this standard on July 1, 2022, resulted in an adjustment to decrease opening net assets by $29,791, with no restatement to prior periods. As a result of adopting this standard on August 1, 2022, for its operating leases, the Organization recognized operating lease right-of-use (ROU) assets amounting to $927,842 and operating lease liabilities amounting to $957,633, based on the present value of the remaining operating lease payments, with the operating lease ROU assets being adjusted for lease incentives. The adoption of the standard did not have a material impact on the Organizations statements of income and cash flows.The Organization accounted for and disclosed its leases under ASC 840 as of and for the year ended July 31, 2022.
