Repayment at 4% interest begins when the student graduates from college or is no longer a full-time student. The Foundation accomplishes this by providing scholarships and low-interest loans to any student that applies. All the funds that the Foundation oversees were donations that were received over time from individuals or organizations. The Perry Foundation is comprised of eight individuals that all volunteer their time to oversee the foundation, seven are former graduates of the Perry Local Schools and the other being the current Superintendent of Schools. Scholarship winners are selected by a committee that affiliated with the particular scholarship in affiliation with Perry High School. Loan recipients are awarded upon application to the foundation trustees. All graduates of Perry Local Schools are welcome to apply an as of this date anyone that has requested funds has never been turned away. The main reason that the Perry Foundation has fallen below the 33.3% test is actually a benefit to all of the students of the Perry Local Schools. A number of years ago the Foundation received a couple of large donations that increased the funds available to students as well as increased the amount of interest that the Foundation receives each year. The Foundation takes all the interest that it received an allocates it back to all of the scholarship and loan accounts therefor increasing the amounts of funds available for student use. While this helps provides more opportunities it also affects our Schedule A Pert II Section B Line 11 Total Support amount. When we divide our actual donations over the last five years by that amount we fall below the 33.3% public support figure. I am hoping that you will see that the Perry Foundation does continue to rely on the support of the public and was fortunate to receive an influx of funds that have helped the overall purpose of the Foundation to provide the students the Perry Local School District an opportunity to continue their education. The funds range from $500 to a max of $3,000. This normally done at our April meeting as to make the filing deadline of May15th. Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 Form 990, Part VI, Section C, Line 19 - The organization provides the public the opportunity to view its governing documents, conflict of interest policy and financial statements upon request and are available at any meeting of the foundation throughout the year.
