What makes us unique is that there is no other full service fine arts programming within a 10-mile radius that offers quality instruction and experiential learning from dance professionals with extensive training and impressive performance careers to underserved youth. We have successfully collaborated with local arts organizations such as Dance Afrikana, Passion with Purpose, Nia's Daughter, Young Audiences, HISD, Houston Arts Connect, The City of Houston, Harris County Department of Education and more to create engaging artistic programming for the public. RSA is bridging the gap for students who do not have access to quality fine arts training and educational experiences. We are meeting the needs of the community by providing free programing and subsidized tuition rates. The problem in our community is that most of the public schools in our service area do not offer fine arts training. Fine arts are often the first budget cut to occur in schools, which means students that live in lower income neighborhoods are more likely to be zoned to schools without a thriving fine arts program. Without this creative outlet, many youth are left hopeless and in despair which combined with systemic oppression make them vulnerable to the juvenile justice system. RSA is thrilled to provide educational opportunities that have led to unique experiences, college tours, scholarships and more. RSA received a total of $19,700 from various organization on behalf of Nia' Daughter and transferred the payments electronically throughout the year. RSA is responsible for reporting funds and issuing Nia's Daughter a statement which shows the organization, payment date and amount received. 1 19700 0 Electronic Transfer Schedule I, Part I, Line 2 Grant funds are monitored by the Director and program administrator to ensure that funds are allocated to the appropriate operational or program expenses. Reporting is submitted to the funders by the requested dates and records are maintained in our database for taxes. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 12c Board members and key officers take a sign a conflict of interest policy to help ensure that when actual or potential conflicts of interest arise, the affected individual will advise the governing body about all the relevant facts concerning the situation. Form 990, Part VI, Section B, Line 15 All salaries are approved by the board. The executive director is in charge of managing the budgets and ensuring that salaries are fair and competitive to hire quality staff. Form 990, Part IX, Line 13 Office expenses includes uniforms, costumes, materials for theater props, art projects, toiletries, cleaning supplies, printer, classroom supplies, snacks, dance and tumbling safety equipment.
