A concert series for adults featuring nationally known storytellers. The series takes place at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center. All the events were hybrid during the 2022 and 23 Series. 2. Talk of the Town is the annual fundraiser for Storytelling Arts of Indiana that takes place in April and features one of the most popular storytellers. This was a hybrid event. 3. If These Walls Could Tell, annually Storytelling Arts of Indiana and Indiana Landmarks, commissions an Indiana storyteller to research, develop and premiere a story based on the building that is awarded the annual Cook Cup for outstanding restoration in the state. The story is told twice once at the Indiana Landmarks Center and once at the site. 4. Frank Basile Emerging Stories Fellowship Storytelling Arts of Indiana awards an annual fellowship to an Indiana storyteller to develop a 60 minute story for adults. The premiere takes place at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center. Total Expenses for above events 91238.39 and Attendance of 1030.5. Ghost Stories at Washington East Park Cemetery. Five Indiana storytellers told stories at the cemetery. The event included food trucks wine and beer. Expenses for the event was 26,104.48 and Attendance of 286. Form 990, Part III, Line Line 4A 1. As I Recall Storytelling Guilds These free monthly meetings take place two times a month, where elders gather virtually to recall, develop, and share their family stories. 2.Indy Story Slam Individuals gather after work to share stories on based on a monthly theme for this free event. It is a competition for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners and takes place at various locations throughout the city. Produced in collaboration with Freetown Village.3.Storytelling in the Parks Storytelling Arts of Indiana secures funding from the Summer Youth Fund to present two performances at 15 day camp sites throughout Marion County during the months of June and July. 4.Annual Liars Contest In collaboration with the Indiana State Fair, Storytelling Arts of Indiana hosts a liars contest on opening night of the Indiana State Fair. Winners are selected in two categories, youth ages up to 17 years and adults. First, Second and Third place awards of cash and ribbons to the winners. 5.The Life Stories Project is an oral history project that records the stories of everyday people. The stories are archived in the oral history collection at the Indiana Historical Society. This project is in collaboration with Freetown Village.6.Hear Our Stories The Life and Afterlife of Incarceration We train individuals who were formally incarcerated to shape and tell their stories. We seek venues such as churches to host this event. Three individuals share their stories followed by a Q and A and reception. We distribute a resource list of organizations that serve inmates and formally incarcerated individuals that need volunteers and donations. 7.Renaissance School We teach a storytelling class once a week each semester to students attending the Renaissance School, an alternative school in Warren Township. These students learn how to tell a short personal narrative teaching them an important leadership skill. 20 students attended this program from January to May 2023.8.Storytelling Mentoring Program for Individuals of Color We began this two year mentoring class in the August 2022 with seven women participating. Following a six week storytelling class, they told stories at 24 library branches to gain experience. Each participant receives complimentary tickets to all the shows in the Storytellers Theater Series. Since that time, one told a ghost story at Ghost Stories at Washington Park East Cemetery, and one is teaching the class at the Renaissance School.
